There are different Dangerous Goods requirements depending on the mode of transport your freight will be travelling on.
- Some freight needs Dangerous Goods declarations to travel by Air when by Road it is not required.
- Some freight cannot travel by Air at all.
- If freight is travelling by Road and Sea, an M041 (Multi-Modal Dangerous Goods declaration) is required.
- Some freight requires the individual signing the declaration to be certified to send freight by Air
This can be confusing, and we are here to help.
Generally speaking, if in doubt on what paperwork is required, obtain a copy of the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and Freight People will be able to help you
Cario will automatically generate Dangerous Goods paperwork for all freight travelling by Road and Sea.
To print this paperwork off, there are 2 methods to do this.
Method 1: Printing off the connote
Depending on whether a connote is required for the carrier/service you have consigned with when a consignment has generated the label and connote will 'pop up' as a new browser window.
If you are using Startrack, TNT, Toll IPEC or Toll Priority a connote will not appear as it is not a requirement for those carriers.
To reprint the connote, or print a connote for one of the above carriers, follow these steps:
- Login into Cario
- Click on 'consignment - Today's List' on the left-hand side
- After locating your connote number navigate to the right-hand side of your screen and click on 'print connote'
Method 2: Printing the Dangerous Goods paperwork with the Manifest
Rather than collecting the Dangerous Goods paperwork for every consignment during the day, you can print them all off in one go after manifesting.
- Login into Cario
- Click on 'Consignments - Booking/Manifest History' on the left-hand side
- Search for the manifest you would like to print the Dangerous goods paperwork for
- Click on [actions] on the right-hand side of the screen
Select 'Print Hazardous Materials'
This will print all individual consignment Dangerous Goods paperwork to travel with the consignment.
